In response to the "dual carbon" strategy,
FAW Jiefang and Baosteel Co., Ltd. signed a memorandum of cooperation on low-carbon "green steel", taking the lead in promoting green supply chain construction in the commercial vehicle field. The fixed scrap ratio and hydrogen based vertical furnace smelting technology jointly developed by both parties have reduced carbon emissions of automotive sheet materials by more than 40%. In 2024, the Jiefang J7 Pioneer Edition
Tractor has adopted Baosteel's low-carbon "green steel" in bulk, with a 15% increase in body lightweighting and a full lifecycle carbon reduction of 50000 tons.
In terms of technological breakthroughs, the Liberation J6P 6SM6 gas tractor adopts lightweight design such as high-strength steel cylinder frame and lithium battery, with a self weight of only 8.3 tons, 0.4 tons lower than competitors, and an annual operating income increase of over 10000 yuan. The CA6SM6 engine it is equipped with adopts anti hydrogen embrittlement coating technology, with a lifespan of over 1.5 million kilometers. Combined with throttle technology, it reduces gas consumption to 26kg per 100 kilometers, saving 7% compared to traditional models. In addition, Liberation and Ningde Times have deepened their cooperation and launched the JH6 charging version tractor, equipped with a 100.46kWh battery, supporting 1-hour fast charging, with a range of 450 kilometers. The sales of new energy vehicle models in 2024 increased by 121% year-on-year.
Through green supply chain collaboration, FAW Jiefang will achieve 31 MW of photovoltaic power generation, 50.8 million kWh of green electricity trading, and reduce carbon emissions by 50000 tons by 2024. The "Liberation Love Navigation" public welfare project has donated over 6 million yuan, benefiting more than 4000 cardholders and building a public welfare ecosystem that is led by enterprises, responsive by the industry, and socially beneficial. In the future, Jiefang will continue to promote the large-scale application of low-carbon materials, and plans to achieve 100% "green steel" coverage in the supply chain by 2030, providing a Chinese solution for carbon neutrality in the global commercial vehicle industry.
